#SENTENCED | A prolific shoplifter has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Jack Mountford-Holding (03/06/1995) of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to two counts of theft-shoplifting committed in Atherton and was given a conditional discharge at #Wigan & Leigh Magistrates' on 17 September 2026.
The Atherton Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) applied for a CBO which was granted by the court and prohibits Mountford-Holding from entering, Tesco, Crabtree Lane, #Atherton, ASDA, Bolton Road, Atherton, as well as ASDAs in Leigh and #Golbourne, and Sainsburys in #Leigh. The order lasts for two years.
Our Neighbourhood Team proactively targets repeat offenders and affected locations, ensuring a focused and consistent response. Where appropriate, we request Criminal Behaviour Orders against persistent offenders through the courts which assists in protecting stores from repeat offenders and provides increased sentencing powers to the courts if these orders are breached.
